I. Wastewater Treatment System Construction Process
Wastewater treatment system construction is a multi-step process, requiring close coordination between the parties involved. Below are the basic steps in the construction process:
1. Survey and design
- Current status survey: Assess the quality of wastewater sources, flow, and pollution components.
- Preliminary design: Select appropriate treatment technology according to environmental standards.
- Detailed design: Determine the layout, treatment capacity, tank structure, and piping system.
2. Prepare for construction of water treatment system
- Apply for a building permit: Ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Prepare materials and equipment: Order materials such as concrete, steel, pumps, blowers, filters, etc.
- Mobilize manpower and machinery: Including excavators, trucks, concrete mixers, etc.
3. System construction and installation
- Rough construction:
- Digging foundation, installing reinforced pile system if necessary.
- Pouring concrete bottom of tank, building walls, pouring floor and installing steel structure.
- Installing equipment:
- Pump, air blower, biological reaction tank, membrane filter system, control cabinet.
- Water pipe system, air vent pipe, sludge drain pipe.
- Construction of pipes and water supply and drainage system.
4. Testing and trial operation
- Check the structure and tightness of the tank.
- No-load test: Evaluate the performance of the pump and aeration system.
- Load test: Put wastewater into the system to check the treatment efficiency.
- Adjust parameters to achieve optimal efficiency.
5. Official handover and operation
- Complete acceptance documents.
- Provide operation and maintenance instructions to the investor.
- Hand over the system and sign a maintenance contract (if any).
II. Some notes when constructing wastewater treatment systems
1. Ensure technical and legal standards
- Comply with environmental standards such as QCVN 40:2011/BTNMT.
- Supervise construction quality to avoid leakage and water seepage.
2. Choose the right treatment technology
- The treatment system must be suitable for the type of wastewater (domestic, industrial, medical…).
- Consider modern technology such as MBR, AAO, SBR… to optimize area and efficiency.
3. Ensure labor safety in construction of water treatment systems
- Provide full protective equipment for workers.
- Check electrical systems and machinery before operating.
4. Control progress and costs
- Closely monitor each stage to avoid delays.
- Plan post-delivery maintenance to maintain system performance.

The construction process of wastewater treatment systems requires precision and strict compliance with technical standards to ensure treatment efficiency and environmental protection.
